Xiaomi Youpin WalkingPad R1 Pro Review

May 09

Previously, most of the people have been going to the gym only in summer. This was the time when regular gymmers couldn’t find free equipment in the gym because all the gyms were overcrowded. But now the healthy lifestyle and chasing weight-loss have become very popular lifestyles. On the one hand, there are myriads of gyms in every middle or major city. But on the other hand, we don’t have much time to visit the gym and work out. However, the aforementioned two goals remain unchanged. Another reason for not visiting gyms regularly is the weather. When it’s rainy or it snows, we don’t want to go to the gym. For all those cases, we recommend having your own walking pad treadmill. But here we face another problem – it occupies too much space. Anyways, there are a few brands that offer ‘portable’ walking pads. That’s not difficult to guess that Xiaomi is among them. It has managed to release several treadmills that have been selling like hotcakes. And today, we are going to talk about another walking pad treadmill that is finished in the Indiegogo platform and raised 120% money than expected.

Xiaomi Youpin WalkingPad R1 Pro Design

Last year I purchase a new house, and it costs me a fortune. Probably, if I decide to buy a house this year, it would be an impossible mission. This simply means I should take every meter of my house very carefully and place anything there keeping in mind one simple idea – the house has limited space. The problem is more actual for those who rent a house or a room. Anyways, in all these cases, many will skip thinking of a treadmill just because it will occupy too much space. In this sense, the Xiaomi Youpin WalkingPad R1 Pro comes with dimensions of 1460 x 28.3 x 6.1mm. But its weight is 33kg. Thus, one person couldn’t carry it easily.

But the selling point of the Xiaomi Youpin WalkingPad R1 Pro is its portability. For a product from this category, we can say space it occupies in a folded state is too little, around 0.5 square meters. Moreover, you can place it vertically. In fact, the key features of all Xiaomi treadmills are the unique folding design. As for this model, it adopts a dual-folding design because there is a handle as well, unlike other models.

Inherited from the previous model, the Xiaomi Youpin WalkingPad R1 Pro adopts the IML process. It can complement the sandblasted texture. There is also an LED display. It displays various information such as the current running speed, the distance you passed, and the time you are running.

When looking a bit lower the panel, we can see the pulleys. Plus, we can find some buttons for controlling various modes. It has wheels. Thus, though it weighs 33kg when folded and the handle is removed, anyone can easily move it to another place and store it.

We know there have been many users who complained of the lack of a handle. This model adds a balancing handle and prolonging the deck. So the Xiaomi Youpin WalkingPad R1 Pro is capable of providing a better running experience.

Also, for better durability, the manufacturer has redesigned its structure. This treadmill uses aluminum alloy material, which makes it quite lightweight but durable at the same time. It supports a weight of up to 90kg.

One of the biggest changes in comparison to the first-gen model is the addition of a safety clip. The latter can turn into an emergency button when needed.

Like the previous-gen model, the ‘running path’ on the Xiaomi Youpin WalkingPad R1 Pro is made of fiberboard.

The company has also improved the motor, and now it generates less noise. The walking path has a thickness of 57mm.

Xiaomi Youpin WalkingPad R1 Pro Experience

Like other Xiaomi treadmills and most of products available on the market, our protagonist has various ways for control and also, it can be easily considered as a smart product. But apart from this, the manufacturer has added a few interesting design elements and features that make running on this treadmill pleasant.

In fact, there are three ways to control the Xiaomi Youpin WalkingPad R1 Pro – remote control, the KS FIT app, and auto mode.

As for the latter, when you control the running speed on your own, there are two speed modes of M and A. The slowest speed in the M gear is 0.5 miles/h, while the maximum speed reaches 3.75 miles/h. As for the A gear, it is for more active running and its speed can reach 6.2 miles/h.

Controlling the speed in this mode is quite easy. When walking/running on the 1/3 area of the trackpad, it will accelerate. Once you enter the 3/3 area, it will decelerate. And if you want to keep the current speed, just keep your feet in the 2/3 area.

For the same purpose, there is a small and intelligent remote control. With its help, you can accelerate or decelerate the running speed.

However, the most convenient mode is provided by the app. With its help, you can always monitor your health status, take a look at your performance, and get tips on how to become healthier.

Moreover, there is a special ‘pocket’ on the handle, where you can place the tablet or smartphone. So besides using this equipment to control the treadmill, you can also watch clips, learn, watch movies, or do anything you want. By the way, the company also suggests various scenarios you can use the Xiaomi Youpin WalkingPad R1 Pro in. Say, you can continue working by walking on it.

We guess most of you will place this treadmill home. So you should know the manufacturer has thought about safety as well. Say, the child lock protection will keep your kids safe.

Conclusion

The Xiaomi Youpin WalkingPad R1 Pro seems to have got all improvements that were lacking in the previous models. Now it has a handle; the motor has been improved and it has become more noiseless; it can be stored vertically; the app has become smarter. And for all this, the company requires only $399. In comparison to other similar models on the market, this is a finding.
