OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro is Officially Launched with Latest Snapdragon and 120Hz in 2020
The Official Launch
After getting leaks and teasers for months, OnePlus finally launched OnePlus 8 along with OnePlus 8 Pro on 14th April 2020. Both smartphones are powered by the latest Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset of 865. However, it is OnePlus 8 Pro that has been integrated with huge display size and improvements in camera.
The OnePlus uses a QHD+ display of 6.78 inches on 8 Pro version and the display of 120Hz helps the smartphone to perform scrolling, animations, and navigation in general much smoother in Android. The smartphone also features sensors on the back and front that helps to improve the brightness automatically. However, OnePlus 8 features full HD+ of 6.55 inches sized AMOLED Fluid display that is 90Hz, the smartphone comes with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
Another big upgrade in OnePlus is the incorporation of the latest quadruple camera. OnePlus 8 Pro features 48 MP as the main camera with 48 MP ultrawide, telephoto, and color filter sensors. The ultrawide sensor has a 120-degree angle, 30x digital zoom, and telephoto has 3x hybrid. While OnePlus 8 comprises of the triple camera of 48 MP Sony IMX586 with 2 MP being secondary senor (macro), and 16 MP tertiary sensor. The smartphone supports video recording of 4K at 30/ 60fps.
The new feature of color filter supports various filters for photos and lighting effects. OnePlus has claimed to improve its photography during the night time and to prove the same, during the event they compared an iPhone 11 Pro Max clicked a photo with OnePlus 8 Pro. While the screen and camera seem to be the biggest upgrades for the device, OnePlus doesn't seem to improve much at the hardware.
Connectivity & Storage
OnePlus 8 provide two-lane options such as 128 GB and 256 GB with 8 GB RAM while OnePlus 8 Pro offers 256 GB internal storage with 12 GB RAM. The connectivity includes 4G LTE, 5G, and Wi-Fi 6 along with Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and NFC. The sensors include front RGB, laser, accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light, flicker detect, magnetometer, and proximity. Additionally, it features an in-display fingerprint.
OnePlus 8 offers a huge battery of 4,300 mAh that supports 30T standard Warp Charge (6A/5V). 8 Pro version supports 30W wireless wrap charge that offers 4,510 mAh and it gets charged 60ttery in just 30 mins. OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro both run on Oxygen operating system and features 5G network.
OnePlus 8 Pro comes in two variants: 8 GB RAM with 12 GB storage is priced $899 while 12 GB RAM with 256 GB storage is priced at $999. Similarly, OnePlus 8 is set for $699 for 8 GB RAM with 128 GB storage and another variant is priced $799 for 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. Both the smartphones of OnePlus will be available in Europe from 21st April and in the United States from 29th April.
